Rebuilding NFTs: Beyond the JPEG Hype

When most people hear "NFT", they don't think utility—they think:
- • overpriced monkey JPEGs
- • pump & dump scams
- • rug pulls and vaporware
- • links to nowhere
- • celebrity cash grabs
And honestly… who can blame them?
The hype wave of 2021-2022 created a digital junkyard of broken promises and short-term greed. People got burned, and that stigma stuck.
But NFTs aren't the problem—bad use cases are.
🛠 What we need to do as Web3 builders:
- ✅Stop using NFTs as gimmicks and start building infrastructure.
- ✅Focus on real-world applications: medical records, digital ID, academic credentials, property ownership, and cross-platform access.
- ✅Make the tech invisible—users shouldn't need to understand ERC-721 to benefit from it.
- ✅Commit to transparency and long-term value—not just short-term mint hype.
The truth is: NFTs can be powerful, permanent, programmable proof.
It's up to us to show the world what that really looks like.
We need to rebuild the meaning of "NFT"—block by block.
